STUDIOVAL

In the heart of 1930s Athens – an era of major reshuffle and unexpected architectural grace – a sophisticated two-story residence has taken its place among the city’s emerging landmarks. Defined by eclectic features and neoclassical touches, the building still bears the patina of time. Today, its ground floor breathes new life hosting the creative pulse of STUDIOVAL, where the past becomes the foundation for creative future thinking.

The renovation did not seek to replace history, but rather to listen carefully to its layers. The existing shell was preserved and gently enhanced, allowing the soul of the building to remain intact. Clean wood paneling was introduced around the perimeter and subtle plaster decorations were added as architectural punctuation, as the original double doors and frames were carefully restored. All are clad in an off-white hue, creating a bright, neutral canvas, a canvas that quietly frames the new elements.

At the core of the design is a balanced dialogue — a deliberate interplay between black and white, restraint and expression, where contrast becomes a language of sophistication. Minimal, specially designed furniture with clean lines coexist with carefully curated works of art, where restrained bursts of color complement the unique character of the space.

The result is more than a workspace. It is a living composition, a place of inspiration, reflection and quiet complexity. A space where architecture becomes narrative, and narrative, a promise: that beauty, when treated with care and intention, can transcend time and always remain relevant.
